17 lbs Loss in 4 Weeks

The 12th November 2012 was a memorable moment and was the day I decided enough was enough, I had to make a change. As far back as I can remember I have always struggled with my weight and now at the ripe old age of 38 something had to give :-) There is no way I am going to look fat, ugly and uncomfortable on my wedding day and this is one of the primary motivations for losing the weight but……then keeping it off. This isn’t a “sad for myself” type of post I like to think I am pretty thick skinned although I am not an emotional retard either but the thought of looking less than perfect on my wedding day fills me with dread. I knew I had to do something with only 9 months away and was waiting for that little light bulb to flick on and say “stop talking about it and do something about it then”. So my weight loss journey began and I haven’t looked back since. My target is 84lbs so only 67 lbs to go and for once I feel really excited and confident about the future.

I had heard of lighter life but when I looked into it £70 per week seemed a lot of money and I discussed other diet plans with friends and finally decided on the Cambridge Weight Plan. With my BMI being slightly over to start sole sourcing (3 CWP packs a day no food) I have started on Step 3 (breakfast, 2 CWP packs & evening meal + 3 pints of water per day) and can honestly say I have not been hungry once or felt the need to eat something outside the plan.

A strict diet regime is the only way for me to do this and being accountable for that weekly one to one weigh with my consultant is what keeps me on plan. I accept that Cambridge Weight Plan is not a long term solution but its working for me and many many other people who follow the plan and have had massive success.

Ask anyone who is overweight how they have struggled, dieted and then put the weight back on again, this is a familiar story for me too. I love food which is my only excuse, I don’t understand portion control or eating in moderation and when I have a chocolate bar I am not satisfied with having a regular bar. I don’t know but something in my brain just tells me it isn’t BIG enough….they say size isn’t everything but I beg to differ where chocolate is concerned!!

BUT my life is changing week by week and I am determined not to fall back into old habits. If I can’t lose the weight for something as amazing and special as my wedding then I will never do it

An added bonus is I have a Super Dry leather jacket riding on this too :-)
